Forming now

Pay less for software. Build with people who know how.

Most Malaysian businesses are paying licence fees they don’t need to pay. This is a community for the owners who want to fix that — and the local builders who can do it.

We started this in 2026 and we’re still forming. No sponsors, no committee, no events yet. Being here now means shaping what it becomes.

The problem

Three things that cost Malaysian businesses money

These are the problems we exist to work on. If none of them describe you, this probably isn’t your community — and that’s fine.

  1. 01

Businesses overpay, and have nowhere neutral to check

Software gets bought from whoever turns up. There is no Malaysian place to ask whether a cheaper option would actually work for your business — and every vendor you ask has a reason to say no.

  2. 02

The people who could help are invisible

Malaysia has engineers and agencies who set these systems up every week. The businesses who need them have never heard of them, and neither side is in the room where the other one is asking.

  3. 03

Nobody has written down what works here

Advice online is written for other countries. What holds up in Malaysia — local hosting, support you can call, compliance, ringgit costs — is knowledge sitting in people's heads, not on paper.

Forming stage

Four things we’re trying to do first

Small and specific on purpose. We would rather do four things properly than announce a roadmap nobody delivers.

  1. 01

Get to 100 members, with both sides in the room

Not followers. People who introduce themselves and answer each other. A community of only builders or only owners solves nothing.

  2. 02

    Collect 10 real cost breakdowns

Actual Malaysian businesses, actual figures, published with permission. Real numbers beat opinions, and we do not have enough of them yet.

  3. 03

Write the plain-language list of what works here

Which tools hold up for a Malaysian SME, what setup really costs, and where a paid product is still the better call. Written so a non-technical owner can act on it.

  4. 04

    Make the first introductions

Five businesses connected to a builder who can do the work. If that happens, this community is doing its job.

Who this is for

Two groups who rarely end up in the same room

If you run a business

Bring the problem

What you’re paying too much for. The system that won’t talk to the other system. The thing you’ve been quoted RM80,000 for. You’ll get straight answers from people who build these systems, with no invoice attached.

If you build

Bring what you know

You’ll be in a room with business owners describing real problems out loud. Some of those turn into work. That isn’t a side effect — it’s the point.

The honest part

“It’s free” is the worst way to sell this

The licence is genuinely zero, forever, for any number of staff. But you still pay someone to install it, keep it patched, train your team, and answer the phone at 4pm on a Friday when invoicing stops working. That’s real money, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.

It wins because those costs are mostly one-time or fixed, while a licence bill is forever and goes up. And when you pay a local person to run your systems, that money stays in Malaysia instead of leaving on a monthly subscription.

Where it doesn’t win: if you have no technical help and no budget to get any, a paid tool that just works is the better business decision. We’ll keep saying that as often as it’s true.
